The Program
COST: $100 per child for one day or $180 for 2 days

Day 1: Tuesday, January 21st - Fractured Fairytales 9am-3pm
​Writing a Narrative: Children will write their own fractured fairytales, reimagining classic stories with unique twists. They’ll focus on key narrative elements, including characters, plot, and setting, to craft creative and imaginative tales.
Bringing Stories to Life: Working in groups, children will choose a format to present their fractured fairytale, such as a comic strip, drama, puppet show, or illustrated book. This activity encourages collaboration and creative storytelling.

Board Game Design and Making: Children will design board games inspired by their fractured fairytales, incorporating characters, settings, and key events. This activity blends creativity, storytelling, and teamwork into an interactive experience.
Day 2: Wednesday, January 22nd - Carla's Sandwich 9am-3pm
​Reading: The day will begin with a group reading of Carla’s Sandwich, a story that celebrates creativity and individuality. Afterward, students will discuss its key themes and draw inspiration from Carla’s unique sandwich creations.
Procedural Writing: Students will learn how to write clear instructions by creating a recipe for their own imaginative sandwich. This activity encourages creativity and emphasizes the importance of precise writing.
Sandwich Creations: Students will follow their recipes to make their sandwiches and enjoy their tasty creations. This hands-on activity reinforces writing skills in a fun and engaging way.
Science Experiment: Students will make edible slime using marshmallows, blending science and play. They’ll explore concepts like elasticity and viscosity in a safe and delicious experiment.
Creative Art: Students will create bean mosaic artworks using dried beans of various colors and shapes. This activity allows them to explore patterns, textures, and artistic expression.
